When applying to become a MyCollegely Pathfinder Mentor, you’ll required to share:
College Credentials — where you study and what you’re majoring in
Current GPA — to show your academic standing
A Sample of Your Admission Essays — we’d love to see how you told your story
Your Campus Involvement — clubs, leadership roles, volunteer work, or any extracurriculars you’re proud of
As part of the selection process, prospective MyCollegely Pathfinder Mentor will complete an assessment covering:
Knowledge of the College Admissions Process
Understanding of applications, essays, deadlines, scholarships, and study abroad basics.
Mentoring & Communication Skills - Ability to listen, guide, and connect with students in a clear, supportive way.
Real-World Student Scenarios
How you’d handle common challenges students and families face during admissions.
Your Personal Approach
How you’d inspire, support, and walk alongside students on their journey.

Essay Editing Task
You’ll be asked to edit a realistic college admission essay.
This will assess your creative writing skills and your ability to help students strengthen and refine their essays.
Video Interaction Round
In this round, you’ll role-play as an admissions counselor with a prospective student and a parent. You’ll be evaluated on:-
Knowledge of the college admissions process
Ability to navigate real-world admissions scenarios smoothly
Professionalism, empathy, and ethics while guiding families
Once selected, all MyCollegely Pathfinders will complete our internal Counseling Certification Program. This ensures:

They are trained on the latest admissions trends, application strategies, and student support best practices.
It helps us deliver consistent, reliable guidance to students and families, no matter where they are in their journey.
